What you should know about SILGRANIT® PuraDur® Sinks
Q - What is the material SILGRANIT® PuraDur® made of?
A - SILGRANIT® PuraDur® sinks are made up of 80% natural granite. BLANCO has used a combination of granite with an acrylic matrix, ceramic and colour pigments to bring about the unmatchable uniqueness and qualities these sinks are known for.
Q - Is the material heat resistant?
A - Yes, SILGRANIT® PuraDur® is heat resistant up to 280 °C.
Q - How sensitive is SILGRANIT® PuraDur® to Scratches and Chipping?
A - SILGRANIT® PuraDur® is tough like a rock; this quality enables these sinks to resist scoring and incising. The usual collisions like the ones due to pots and pans and breakages such as from glass, will not produce any cracking or damages to BLANCO’s SILGRANIT® PuraDur® sinks.
Q - Is the material safe for use with food?
A - SILGRANIT® PuraDur® is known to be absolutely safe if in contact with food and is also entirely germ-free. BLANCO has used Hygiene+Plus in these sinks which is a protection against dust and germs also making them very easy to clean.
Q - How do I clean the surface?
A -SILGRANIT® PuraDur® Sinks are trouble-free and very simple to cleanse. It is as easy as ABC to keep these sinks clean and dirt-free. You can easily remove marks and scratches that you notice after using these sinks with the help of rubbing cloth and a small quantity of water. If you find the stains tough to clean then BLANCO suggests using a regular cleaner such as ‘Cif’ or BLANCOACTIV.
Q - Do sinks made of SILGRANIT® PuraDur® discolour over time?
A - The substance that is used in the manufacturing of these sinks is compressed in a single flow, thus it is coloured all the way through in a single process. Usual domestic chores in the kitchens usually do not harm or cause distinct changes in the colour. Sunlight also doesn’t cause any harm to the colours of these sinks either.
Q -What can cause dark marks and lines in the sink?
A - As you know that the crust of SILGRANIT® PuraDur® is exceptionally durable and exceedingly hard-wearing against abrasions so it is protected from severe cracking and damages, but metallic items such as pots, saucepans, skillets etc. May cause scratches wherever they are scraped touching the sink. These scratches might appear to be dark in case you have a light-coloured sink.
Q -How do I remove these marks?
A -You can easily get rid of these marks and tinges that you may notice as appearing as dark stains with the help of rubbing cloth and a small quantity of water. If you find the stains tough to clean then BLANCO suggests using a regular cleaner such as ‘Cif’ or BLANCOACTIV.
Q -Can discolouration and stains/marks occur on SILGRANIT® PuraDur®?
A - Usually the discolouration is not seen in these sinks but if you notice any then this means that the water you are using is hard causing limescale deposits which, when dried out, soak up the liquors like coffee, tea or red wine. When you see these stains you confuse them with discoloration due their appearance. You can easily get rid of limescale deposits applying standard household cleaners, detergents, acetic acid or similar, or you can use BLANCOACTIV as well and water with a temperature of not less than 600C. Let the solution be there at least for 3-4 hours or if possible leaving it overnight will be ideal, after that wash the sink thoroughly and then clean-up with a sponge and swab it dry.

A - BLANCO has the authorisation of seven special copyrights for SILGRANIT® PuraDur®, thus making this material very unique and the best one in its class in the world. Additional authentication of its outstanding qualities is acknowledged in the solicitation of 3 neutral quality certificates from the LGA Nuremberg. Therefore, SILGRANIT® PuraDur® is patented and certified.
