Q - Areleft-hand and right hand drainer format available for all sinks?

A - Left-hand and Right-hand drainer format is available for all Franke sinks but if a sink is only available in one format then it will be specified on our website. This choice is automatically offered by Reversible sinks.

Q - Are plumbing kits included?

A - No, they are not included. When you order a sink you will have to purchase a Siphon I, II, or III plumbing kit depending on the number of bowls the sink contains.

Q - Can a Waste Disposal Unit be fitted in a Franke sink?

A - Yes, you can fit a Waste Disposal Unit because any sink which has a 31/2’’ waste (90mm) can be connected with a Waste Disposal Unit. There is an extended Flange for Franke ceramics sinks which are continuous feed models. If there is an overflow in your sink, then you may need to buy a WDU Overflow Converter.

Q - How do I clean the overflow?

A - The hygienic overflow in Franke sinks offers flexibility in cleaning. If you simply remove the logo plate, it reveals the overflow aperture for hygienic and easy cleaning. The rigid overflow pipes of Franke sinks can be cleaned simply by pouring boiling water into them. Alternatively, a proprietary cleaner can be used.

Q - How can an earthing be applied to a Franke sink?

A - For a mechanical bond to be made to inset sink models, similar to other sink manufacturers, Franke has a provision for this. By utilising one of the cut-out points along the length of the clip rail, a hole is made at the end of the clip rail length to accommodate the bond.

Q - How do I fit an under-mounted sink?

A - It would be best to seek out the advice from a professional as it depends on the worktop. Fixing clips and a template are provided in the box. There are few circumstances that may allow you to fit the bowl directly to the worktop. In another case, when addressed to the underside of the material a plywood template can be made according to the size of the sink which will be able to ‘sandwich’ the sink flange. We recommend you to use a sealant between the worktop and the flange of the sink in order to avoid any water ingress. But in all cases, you should consult with your supplier.

Q -How long are warranties on Franke sinks?

A - These sinks come with a Guarantee of 50 years against any manufacturing fault. If you are purchasing a non-UK Franke product in the UK, from non-UK or UK based websites, all warranty claims should be directed to Franke in the country of the origin of that product. The guarantee is valid for only those products which are used in normal domestic situations.

Q -How do I determine the capacity of the sink?

A - For comparing sink sizes, three basic measurements can prove helpful.

Depth- Distance from the bottom of the sink to the top of the rim

Taper- An inward slope of every side of the sink from rim to bottom

Radius- Where the bottom and sides meet measure the bowl’s bottoms and corners

The deeper the bowl, the smaller the radius and straighter the slope the higher capacity in the sink.

Q -What’s the best way to clean fragranite sinks?

A - Franke’s Fragranite sink has been manufactured according to the highest possible standards. In order to maintain the attractiveness, Franke suggests you to follow the guidelines.

Most stains can be removed with hot water and washing up liquid followed by a clean water rinse. After this, you should dry the sink with a soft cloth to prevent any chances of building up the lime scale on the surface.

For marks which are more stubborn, it is recommended that you use the product CIF Cream Cleaner with a Scotchbrite pad in a circular motion to clean the sink. CIF is available from most supermarkets.

The beauty of your sink can be affected by the quality of your water. Mostly due to the build-up of mineral deposits or limescale, particularly common in hard water areas. Limescale quickly absorbs staining agents such as red wine, tea, coffee, etc that spoil the appearance of your sink. Due of this, you should always rinse and dry the sink after each occasion, and avoid mineral deposits left behind on the surface while the water is evaporating.

If any Limescale has built up in the sink, then use exclusive limescale removing product such as Limelite or Viakal to remove the limescale. Alternatively, you can soak the sink in three parts water and one part vinegar. This process will loosen the limescale and make it possible to scrub it away with a kitchen sink cleaner and an abrasive pad.

Q -How can a taphole in a Fragranite inset sink be knocked out?

• You need to ensure that the colour sticker is in centre of pre-formed taphole.
• Description line drawings should be followed which are shown on the template, otherwise.
• Take the sink out of the box and rest the sink against your legs. In this process, the face of the sink should facing outwards and ensure that the tap hole is for correct hand drainer (Be careful about the edge of the sink)
• Get a centre punch and place on the centre of the colour sticker;
• With a hammer, strike the punch hard, as it will result in the core of the tap hole being knocked out;
• Finish up with the use of the ball hammer and using a round file.
